Town Spotlight: Coming Soon to a Viewpoint from You!
October 3, 2002

The VV team had a very busy September. Getting kids ready for school, finishing the summer activities, choirs starting back up, new church programs to build and a multitude of other things got in the way of visiting a new town.

However, in just a matter of a few days the full splendor of the autumn colors will be upon this wonderful valley of ours. So, we'd like to hear from you. Tell us where in the Pioneer Valley you think the "Autumn View to end all Autumn Views" is located. E-mail us at info2005@valleyviewpoint.com.

We'll post your suggestions on the VV website and we'll try to visit as many of them as we possibly can in the next couple of weeks. We'll randomly select someone to receive a Valley Viewpoint Tote Bag!

I'd like to suggest The Poet's Seat Tower in Greenfield — Joe, Greenfield, MA

I won't say they are "The Best" but the little town of Leyden offers up some pretty big views. — Tom in Leyden, MA

It is Barnards Hill in Gill, probably best seen from Mt. Hermon. Coming from West Gill, make a right onto North Cross Road , then a left  a quarter mile short of Main Road  to Dwights Home, the alumni office. From that vantage point look across North Cross Road to the Barnards Hill. Personal notes, my grandfather owned Barnards Hill in the early 1900`s. I was working for the road department when North Cross Road was paved. And I can remember when the farmhouse at the top of NCR was electrified, the last one in Gill at the time. — C. Edward from Newfield, NJ

I just read the Spotlight section of the view and would like to offer my suggestion of the High Ledges in Shelburne. The view of Shelburne Falls & Buckland during peak color is breathtaking. — Marty, Shelburne Falls, MA
