Walk of Remembrance – Saturday, September 22nd – The Leverett Peace Pagoda and Traprock Peace Center are inviting the public to a Walk of Remembrance and Reflection. All are welcome to join the walk at stops along the way, which leaves from Traprock Peace Center in Deerfield at 8 AM and arrives at the Greenfield Town Common at 9 AM. Walkers then join neighbors at Unity Park in Turners Falls at 11:30 AM for interfaith prayers, remembrance and a potlunch lunch. At 1:30 PM, the walk returns to Greenfield for afternoon circles at Greenfield High School and then Greenfield Community College at about 3:30 PM. For details, call the Traprock Peace Center at (413) 773-7427.

As a way of offering support, we would like to invite you, your friends and family to join us on Sunday, September 23rd from 4pm to 6pm at the Creativity Fitness Center (our studio at the Leverett Crafts & Arts Center, Leverett, MA). In this safe, supportive environment you may opt to experience personal, open-ended art expression. Or you can join a structured, facilitated session, where individuals will contribute to the creation of Prayer Flags that will be displayed outside the building. Art materials will be provided by the Center for Creative Consciousness. Directions are included at the end of this memo. If you have questions, email us at ccc@tocreate.org or call CCC at 413 665-4880. http://www.tocreate.org.

The Hampshire Gazette has a very good page listing ways to help, ways to remember the victims, and ways to cope with the events of September 11. Click here to go to the link (note: you will be leaving Valley Viewpoint) www.gazettenet.com/09212001/news/6692.htm.

There is also a tremendous amount of information and resources on Shel Horowitz's Frugal Fun web site. Shel is a resident of Holyoke who produces several e-newsletters.
