Making
a Difference:
Piece of the Pie 2001
The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts is holding Piece of the Pie 2001
- their most important fundraising event of the year - on Thursday,
October 18, and they are asking local businesses and communities to help
make it a big success.
Piece of the Pie is very simple. On Thursday, October 18, 159participating restaurants in western Massachusetts will donate 10% of
the day's proceeds to The Food Bank. The funds raised will help feed
people in need across western Massachusetts. Although 10% of a meal
doesn't sound like much, it's important to know that every $1 raised
enables The Food Bank to distribute $9 worth of nutritious
food to those who need it.
You
can help to make this event a huge success by letting
employees, friends and business associates know about
this important event and encouraging them to dine out on

The Food Bank works behind the scenes of nearly every agency that
provides food to people in need in western Massachusetts, distributing 5
million pounds of food a year to 410 non-profit programs that serve
those in need.
